Experience
The work that came before, and led to, RMG Digital Solutions. Three careers, one thread.
Made a delegate, at ten, when the Chinese national table tennis team visited Long Island on its ping-pong diplomacy tour of the United States. Interviewed on Chinese radio.
Won the under-13 doubles at the U.S. Open in Oklahoma City, partnered with Eric Boggan, later a U.S. champion and Hall of Famer.
Graduated from New York University and went to work in financial services.
Three years in financial services, my first job out of school and the last one I would take in an office someone else ran.
Two years producing independent films. The credits are on IMDb under my name, so the film producer and the reputation adviser are the same Charles Zakarin.
Founded American Automotive Equipment in New York, a distributor and importer in the automotive aftermarket.
Twenty-three years building the company and selling throughout North America. Employees, customers, vendors and banks; good years and hard ones as well. That was supposed to be my last job.
Inaccurate information about me surfaced online and soon led every search for my name. I hired three reputation firms to fix it and spent roughly fifty thousand dollars. It stayed.
Sold a majority stake in the company.
Learned to fix my own results, then began advising people privately on reputation and defamation matters, one at a time, as they asked.
Founded RMG Digital Solutions. Eighteen people today, working with individuals and companies whose online records are inaccurate, incomplete, or too thin to tell anyone much.
The firm's work now centers on what search engines and AI systems say about the people and companies it serves.
